Every month, we select one winning photograph for which the photographer receives a prize of $100. Plus, we donate $100 – in the Winner’s name – to the Winner’s choice of a charity organization that focuses on helping the blind. We do the latter because the focus of the Contest is to honor the blind, who are not able to see the beautiful images captured in submissions to this contest.

We also provide online visibility to other high quality submissions through our monthly Best of the Best awards and our postings in the ten photo categories (listed above to the left). There are no cash awards for these postings, but we do pay tribute to your effort by listing your name and hometown.

By submitting your entry, you agree to be bound by the following Contest Rules:

All entries must be photographed by you and submitted electronically using the online Photo Submission Form in the Photo Contest Center. To be considered, your photo should:

* be submitted in high quality jpg/JPEG format only;

* be approximately 640×480 to 800×600 pixels in size (larger images will be resized; smaller ones cannot be enlarged and will not be used if deemed too small);

* not be larger than 200 KB;

* not need trimming, cropping or editing for image quality. [Please do not add borders around your photo. A border will not improve the quality of a good photo. If we use a bordered photo we may crop the border.

Only entries received by midnight (EST) the last day of the month will be included in the contest for that month. Please allow yourself adequate emailing time as we are not responsible for email delays no matter where they occur. Entries received after midnight will be included in the contest for the next month.

Photographs can be on any of the ten subject areas. However, do not submit photos in which any people appear since we have no means of validating that they have signed a valid Model’s Release. Also, do not submit photos that feature the intellectual property of others (e.g., a sign containing a registered trademark).

Your submission must include your last name, first initial and home town so that you can be given proper acknowledgment at this site, should we decide to exhibit your photo. By submitting an entry, you agree to let us post your photo at this site in this Exhibition without any compensation. In so agreeing, you also agree to provide us with a royalty free license to use your photo (solely on this site). You also agree to hold us harmless from any visitor to this site making any unauthorized use of your photo. Submissions will not be returned.

You may submit only one photo per week, with a week beginning on the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of the month and ending, respectively, at midnight on the 7th, 14th, 21st or the last day of the given month. Contestants entering more than one photo per week will eliminate themselves from the Contest for the month.

You may submit the SAME photo only ONCE a month unless and until the photo is selected and posted on our web site. Once your photo is posted – as a weekly pick, a Best of the Best, or a final monthly winner – you may not submit that same photo again; to do so may disqualify your photos from future consideration.

Every month, one winner will be selected from among those submissions fully adhering to these Contest Rules. The decision of the Judges will be based on content and quality of submitted photos. The decision of the Judges will be final.

Monthly winners may continue to submit photos and be considered for the monthly Best of the Best awards, but may not be a monthly winner more often than once in a 6 month period.

Winner will be notified at the email address used with the submission of the winning photo. Winner must then provide a postal mailing address so that we can mail the check, taxes on which, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Winner must also promptly identify the charity for the blind that is to receive the matching prize. If winner does not promptly identify one, then the owner of the site shall select one so that the matching award can be promptly made.

Indemnity: Contestant agrees to indemnify this site, and its owner – WebCentric Education, Inc. – and hold these parties harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, proceedings, judgment, damages, injuries, orders, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from or related to the Contestant’s infringement of the intellectual property rights, or other rights, of third parties by the Contestant.

The site owner may end this contest at the end of any month. Contest Rules may change from time to time; therefore contestants should read the rules before every submission. By your submission, you are acknowledging acceptance of, and compliance with, the rules at the time of your submission. Contest is void where prohibited or limited by law.
