2023. december 16-án, szombaton 15:00-tól Hórusz Archívum dobozbontó esemény lesz a Capa Központban. A workshop és beszélgetés keretein belül az archívum alapítója, Kardos Sándor Németh Gábor társaságában bont ki egy hosszú évek óta érintetlen, fényképekkel teli dobozt – a résztvevők pedig megtapasztalhatják, milyen közel lépni a legnagyobb hazai privát fotós gyűjtemény fényképeihez.

A Hórusz Archívum:

Kardos Sándor Kossuth-díjas operatőr privátfotó-gyűjteménye méretét tekintve Magyarország egyik legnagyobb magánkollekciója, ami közel egymillió képből áll. Hórusz az egyik legfontosabb egyiptomi isten, szemének ábrázolása az egyik legnépszerűbb amulett, az egészet, a teljességet jelenti. A névválasztás elsősorban a képek mágikus, a hétköznapi dolgoktól eltérő, egy cseppet sem várt, önkéntelenül felbukkanó többletjelentésére utal.

Az esemény a Hórusz Archívum, az Eidolon Centre for Everyday Photography és a Robert Capa Kortárs Fotográfiai Központ együttműködésében valósul meg.

Horus Archives unboxing

On Saturday, December 16 from 15:00, a Horus Archives unboxing event will take place in Capa Center. During the workshop, the founder of the archive, Sándor Kardos and Gábor Németh, will open a Horus box that has not been touched for many years – and the participants can experience the photographs from the largest private photography collection in Hungary as close as ever before.

The Horus Archives:

Kossuth Prize recipient cinematographer Sándor Kardos’s collection of vernacular photography, is the largest private collection in Hungary in terms of size, comprising close to one million images. Horus is one of the most significant Egyptian gods, depictions of his eye—a popular charm—symbolize the whole, totality. The choice of name primarily refers to the magical, extraordinary, unexpected, and unintentional meaning of images.

The event will be held in Hungarian.

The event is realised in cooperation between the Horus Archives, Eidolon Center for Everyday Photography and the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center.
